I remember that the so-called "Nigerian Scam" emails were immaculately written - there were no spelling or grammatical errors - not even one !
I once ran it through the MS-Word Grammar and Spell check and it came back clean, which is extremely rare.
This one, on the other hand, doesn't qualify as a genuine scam

I personally think its not a good idea to post your phone numbers and emails in the open. Even in your profile, you have the option to keep your email hidden, I would suggest doing that.
That enables people to communicate with you while keeping spammers away.

is using CD to send out the emails.. I have my email settings set to "Hide Email Address" .. still i get his emails sometime.. its nothing offensive or bad.. he just requests to visit his website.
I get 100s of Junk Email to the address I have given at CD.. and I usually just select all and delete.. so doesn't matter..

It is possible that this spammer "harvested" email IDs before most people set it to invisible.
If you have not hidden your email address, it is trivial for a spammer to write a screen-scrapper program and grab the email addresses of all users by using random user IDs.
The bulletin board software should have had a better way to retrieve user profiles, rather than stick their user IDs in the browser address bar !
I think the default option for email address should be set to invisible, so that even novice computer users are protected.
Is this something that can be changed at the board level, Mr. BlueLobster?
