Hi,
I got some questions regarding Insurance..
- I just moved recently from US, exchanged my US license with a Ontario's G-License.
- I am looking to buy a Used Honda Civic/Corolla around 96-98 Models.
- I have more than 6 years of driving experience in US, does that help in getting a better insurance quote.
- I am a family person with a child. Family status and profession used as a factor to reduce the Insurance Price in U.S.., is it the case with Canada too?
I am seriously thinking of buying from Dealer (despite a 7% additional cost), because, they atleast make sure the essentials with the vehicle so that it runs OK.
- If you know some good dealers, or their representatives, Please let me know.
- If any one on the board is a dealer/rep, please PM me with details.
Regards,
J.

I believe in most cases, you should try and transfer your coverage through your US insurance company, assuming they do business in Canada.
If that is the case, they usually carry forward all the discounts, driving record, etc.
You won't have to worry about getting driving abstracts, no claims certificats, etc.

Hi,
Do you know which US insurance company operates in Canada?
Please name a few.
I heard State Farm operates in both the countries.
