For some people computer/tech./lot of money is not the only decision factor for moving to other country.
Here are few things that money cannot buy:
Clean air/clear water/ clean road/cycling/boating/hiking/time with family/travelling the world/no need for visa for more than 20 countries after citizensip/social pressure the list goes and goes...

The way Indian IT sector is moving and the salary offered to experienced IT pro in certain places(like Bangalore,Hydrabad etc) if I would have been in your place I would think many times before immigrating to Canada.
Couple of years back when I decided to move to Canada IT market in India was not this much strong ... a few months back one of my friend(he is also a SAP consulatnt like me) who had US project expecrience accepted a offer in the range of 35 lakh p.a(cost to the company)in Bangalore
I can tell you from experience that 35 lakhs pa in Bangalore is VERY VERY much the exception.
Very general salary scale: 5 yrs exp - 5-10 lakhs. Lots of people get less than this.
I have a little under 9 yrs experience with very good companies and am not getting anywhere near this. Of course, I am in a different field - .Net.
Then factor in huge potholes, traffic becoming umanageable, apts very costly (decent 2BR will be 30 lakhs and up) - I think all of Indians do not take the 'quality of life' factor in a more developed country into account.
True, I have been to Bangalore this Jan and I found standard sal is 10L for 8 to 9 yrs of exp at developer/team lead level. Bit more for managers.
35L? I don't know if he is ref. to top management level.
Cheers
Raj

A person is never more on trial than in a moment of excessive good fortune.
Top mgmt, yes - I know somebody who returned from the States and is currently working for Accenture as a senior manager. He has 14 years of experience, all in the States, and is getting more than 30 lakhs.
But, are you willing to wait to get that much experience to earn that amount?
It won't happen for us at present
35 is indeed on the high side and exceptional actually. but its really for people with topnotch company experience and atleast 10-12 years.
10 lacs is quite common for 5+ years
15-20 for 8+ years
35 also must include other benefits
of course none of the above amounts give you quality of life. QOL is not quantifiable

Yeah, 15-20 for 8+ years is also very high. Maybe ERP alone, and even then only a few companies.
