Hello
I am currently on grad work permit which expires in july 2005. I have already applied for my PR received my AOR in sept 2004.
I am sure my PR wont be done before my grad work expires.
in that case i might have to go back to studies, i have student visa extened till march 2006. As my current employer is not ready to apply for my actual work permit.
Instead of going back to studies, can I apply for a tourist visa? what duration can I get for?
Which is better going to studies or applying for visitor visa and wait till PR is done.
As going back to studies cost a lot ....to be frank.
any other way to stay or extend my stay till my PR is done.

- work permit
- enrol in new genuine course of study
- visitor visa MAY be refused. If granted, it'll be for six months [can be extended a further six months].
- meet & marry the person of your dream and hopefully he/she is Cdn citizen or PR
- finally, open a pizza joint and tell the press that you were promised PR visa by the minister in return for free pizza [this option is open if you are crazy & stupid]

I would have definately married a cdn citizen or PR gal, if i dint have a gf in canada itself. SHe is currently on student visa and myself on grad work permit.
I was going through cic.gc.ca website where it says spouse of student or grad work permit students can get open work permit.
I plan to marry her by june, can she discountinue her studies and obtain a open work permit?
How can we do that? where do we need to apply?
I have applied for my PR received my AOR till now. she hasnt applied as yet, can i add her name after marriage when she is on student visa or when she gets open work permit?

She can discontinue her studies. She'll get bored making roti at home
You can add her to your app after marriage [or even now if you have been living together for at least one year].

Lol.......she doesnt want to cook roti's, she wants to work.
SHe is on student permit and I am on grad work permit and have applied for my PR, received my AOR.
We both do not stay together. so now if we marry, can i add her in my application before or after medicals?
