Newsatish,
I agree with your last post. Everyone takes advantage of the other but sometimes Indian bosses go over board!!!! Something I would love to change.
I have here been for three months. I dont what happend to many south Asians, They have changed their name to some anglican name. I dont get the reason behind it.
Indians have forgotten to smile also? 1st generations Indians Please keep on smiling. This will feel good and you will feel happy. Dont worry if others dont smile at you. You have to smile for yourself and feel good. If you are struggling or have made it, keep on smiling and if want to more happy keep on Humming a song. Dont worry about others arround you.

Could you give some specific examples or incidents that describe in a little more detail what you say?
Are u saying that these people actually refuse to say that they are Indians, or what? How?

Hello,
I have gone thru this also. I am in Canada since May of last year. And I felt the same. When I smile at someone, they never reciprocated and at times, they use to turn their face too. That really bothered me. On the contrary if you smile at a Gora, he/she will reciprocate your jesture with equal enthusiasum!!! I wonder, why are they like that?

But with the increase in numbers , times are bound 2 come when they will start recognising other cultures and behaviours when they are in minority(esp in Canada) . And u wudnt be ashamed 2 say 'hello g kaisen hai aap?' in public.
Till then 'whats happening dude ?'
Manasvi.

I read sometime ago that in Antwerp, the Gujaratis have so taken over the diamond business that in the last 20-25 years they have outdone the Jews there who took 2 centuries to establish themselves.
The Jews now greet the Gujaratis with "kem cho" instead of the Gujaratis greeting the Jews in their language.
I hear this forum was originated by Gujaratis and that one of the global moderators is also Gujarati. Hats off to your kind!
Hope you guys can pull something like that off here in Canada in the diamond and petroleum community (aren't the Ambanis also Gujarati?). Maybe the steel community will greet Mittal in his language.
And then there is Subhash Chandra- also Gujarati?
This is in response to "aap kaisen hain" instead of "wassup dude".
