well i just thought if u see an indian face in the crowd,
n u feel good.
would it be too much to ask if they smiled at u just as an acknowledgement ?
just imagine what a huge force we all are ?
i mean the numbers !
why is it that we are not that big an identifiable force ?
coz we dont project ourselves as people worthy of that.
tell me if im wrong

Hello,
I have gone thru this also. I am in Canada since May of last year. And I felt the same. When I smile at someone, they never reciprocated and at times, they use to turn their face too. That really bothered me. On the contrary if you smile at a Gora, he/she will reciprocate your jesture with equal enthusiasum!!! I wonder, why are they like that?
Sir,
You have mentioned that when you smile and you are not reciprocated, then you take it as a bad mood.
Sir, at a given time not everyone will have a bad mood. If you smile at ten people, I doubt if two will also reciprocate!!
I hope and pray that I do not become one of those because I feel that if you forget to smile, then that's it.
correct !
its not the mood.
and its not about having a positive attitude and thinking` oh no, its nothing`.
i think its an observation by a whole lot of new and old immgrants.

Hi whats up ?
How s things ??
People have different cultures in different places and not all of them r common . Politeness , humbleness and respecting elders is Eastern . Calling a 50 year old by his first name amazes me by the mis-equality it seems 2 bring in .
Since Brits /Americans have led the world or so they believe , rights and wrongs r curently being dictated by them .They decide that v talk their talk and walk their walk ........... heck I ve seen a larger proportion of Indians having better English reading and writing skills than Brits . Not 2 mention their pathetic hand writing skills -- thanks 2 Computers they feel escaped .
But with the increase in numbers , times are bound 2 come when they will start recognising other cultures and behaviours when they are in minority(esp in Canada) . And u wudnt be ashamed 2 say 'hello g kaisen hai aap?' in public.
Till then 'whats happening dude ?'
Manasvi.
