2. Bus/train fare's monthly weekly pass and the telephone connection fee etc..

3. Any kind of fee to be paid for getting employment and the services realted to them for registrataion, copying, typing, Attestation etc.

4. Any kind of clothing, consumer durable home item, or daily consume item to be purchased immidiately.

Any other realted information will also be helpful..

No fees for PR, SIN and Library. Driving License will cost you altest $500 to 1000 depending your skill. You must take G1 License (Learning License) and the fees for that will be about $60 to $100. The lessons are about $25 per hours or you can go for package of $300 for 10 lessons plus 25 hours of class-room training.

TTC pass is $90 per month. Telephone connection will cost you $55. Montly charges are about $40 with all local calls free.

HRDC centers and libraries are proving these services free of charge.

Mattresses and/or comforters are required immediately. Nothing else is that important.

In capitalist countried you get what you pay for....you do not have to wait at all because you are paying for it.

Apartment building have a laundry room. There should be many washers and dryers - coin operated (usually 1.0$ to 1.5$) . There should not be any waiting. IF they have you can always go back and come as it is your apartment!

There are private laundramats out side your apartment.

In houses you will have your own dryer and washer. The cost of both should be around $1000

Anything else?

This posting is directed to Anjana.

Anjana, you have been enquiring about various things in different discussions - some totally unrelated like this one. It would do you a lot good if you framed your questions in one post of your own and then expect related replies.

Also, while asking questions, it is always good to give an idea of your own lifestyle and background - it would help you a lot in getting reasonable and meaningful answers. I had sent a 3 1/2 page list of questions to my friend in Canada before migrating. So to get replies more suitable for your personal situation (since everyone has different background and life experiences and expectations), explain what is your own requirement and expectation. By migrating from the UAE, many of the anwers you are getting from people who migrated directly from India might be irrelevant to your case.

In case you want, you can send a mail to me directly at - I might have very similar background as yours - having lived an expatriate's life and that too in 4 different countries before migrating to Canada.

However, let me tell you one thing very crudely - I know tons of people who have migrated to Canada from UAE - they are the most frustrated guys in Canada for very obvious reasons!! and most of them return to UAE as soon as they are able to get their citizenship. It is not a universal statement, but my personal experience!

Hi all,

I got the answer my self.

it is about $500 without home rent.

The $500 includes eating at restaurents and in the maket place, calling india, applying for the driving licence, phocopying and various miscellaneous one time expences on bateries, staionary diaries etc etc..

But life here is realy fast as compared to India, but the Efficeny is low.
