swapping licences from ontario to NY state

can I swap my G licence in ontario with a Ny driving licence. How much time and cost will be involved.Do they access/ pass the information to each other automatically in respective computers or I have to inform them of the swapping.
in future if I need can I sweep my us licence again to get my G licence or I will have to start from scratch
Is there a time limit?

If you have an address here in Canada or a friends address (With his knowledge and permission) you can still retain the Canadian License here too. The fees will be under a hundred and the normal wait period for the testing.

Yes, they talk between themselves. (The computers that is). That is what you want, is it not? Other wise how can you swap one fort the other. But you can retain it too.
