My backgraound:
In canada on work-permit since Sep 2003.
Applied for IMM from Buffalo in Oct 2004.
Received File# in Feb 2005.
Need an urgent advice on folowing as my job is about to end in Canada:
1) When should i expect my medical request ?
2) Is RCMP clearance asked for everyone ? If yes, should I request it before CIC asking me for it ? CIC says not to request RCMP clearance till they ask and also to send their letter along with clearance request.
3) How much time does RCMP clearance take ?
4) Is RCMP clearance (if required) always asked with medicals or can it be asked later also?
4) How much time does it take for PR after medicals are done ?
5) What is the best way to receive my file & status (caips notes) ?

after Medical it takes around another 2 months..

I have also applied for my immigration in Oct 2004 and am also awaiting my Initial Assessment.I had received my AOR in Jan 05.
Go for RCMP Clearance proactively;even tough the documents says to wait until u are advised to do so but those who have waited have delayed their process in the past against those who haven't.
After going through Yogi799.com, i found that they have not processed many files in July as not many people have got their IA in july i am also keeping my fingers crossed and awaiting something soon.
A friend of mine had applied in around 15th Sept 2004 and got his medicals in June.
