Hi! fellow canadian's need some advice and help.
My brother today met with an accident, he was crossing the road and a car hit him, apprently he was knocked Unconscious so when he woke up he was in NorthYork hospital. When he woke up he happened to know he has a bad bruise on his back his left leg is broken and scratches over his body. He called me from his cell phone on what happened. Apprently we have no immediate family or close friends in toronto so he is all shaken up and scared, he is on a work permit with some basic health coverage.
What I am concerned is the cops took the statement on what happened and derived that its a hit-&-run situation and they have not yet identified the car. So in this case would he have to pay the full medical bill with the car is not found ? He migrated to canada for making is career, not expecting such situations which I guess no one does.
I donnot need money, please donnot consider this as a request for donation. I need information on whether we would have to pay the bill to the hospital or not ? how does it work in canada ?. Besides that if someone is really caring and would like to go and see him - that would be very very greatfull, email me and I shall send you his name and information.
Thanks in advance to all for taking time reading this post and sending me any helpfull information.
Thanks
ketan
