Hi,
I know there are some people on this forum either from the UAE or at least those who are somewhat familiar with the Dubai Airport. Since this will be the first time I will be going through the UAE, and since I have heard so much about shopping in Duabi airport, could someone tell me what items specifically would be a bargain (at the airport)? I am NOT interested in gold or clothes.
I am interested in things like.. perhaps.. electronics/CDs/DVDs. etc.. etc.
any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Hi,
You better buy all you electronics things from here. That days has gone when people used to go Dubai for shopping.prices are gone up big time.
The life style of Dubai has completely changed 180 degree.Their standard of living is very high and getting higher day by day.You can compare their standard with europe. So i will advise you to buy all your electronics thinhs from here.

Cant comment on the DXB Duty free as I never shopped there but trust me DXB still boasts of the lowest world prices lower even the countries of manufacture ! Sometimes the difference is as much as 100% .I checked a Harmon Kardon system at Nasser Square which was priced at CAD 350/- On the internet in Canada the prices are > CAD 700/- !!
But be wary when shopping at Nasser Square for electronics.Always insist on distributor warranty card even if u wont use it .This ensures a 1st hand item and not a re circulated one.
Dubai is a shopping paradise . Not seen such malls even in London / Paris.
Manasvi.
In duty free i dont think things are that chep, but if you can search in duabi shopping malls you may get some time good deals...
But carefull when shopping at Nasser Square for electronics. Most of the electronic sold here are Duplicates..... dont accept shop warranty.
for this reason you need to travel from canda to Duabi..... joking
