Or would it be better to keep it on the 15th of Dec if more people can attend? Wondering if Dec15 works for Jake. I'm really looking forward to him demonstrating personally how the South Indian and Irish accents are similar. :p

Are you there?

dont think i can provide the demo you seek (born and bought up in Bombay), however, the south indian accent does surface from time to time. You can judge for yourself soon :)
I will be editing my short film during the next month. I am trying to wrap up the project before the holidays and expect to be in crunch mode the first 2-3 weeks of december. So i'll be able to make it only after (if things go well) the 22nd of december. So I guess I'll miss the initial meetings. I'll see you guys/gals at another date for sure.

I am quite new to this "Charcha". I was looking forward to this meeting. And meet few of the members (if not everyone!)
But as I am travelling to Chicago... I'll have to wait for another meeting.
I hope it shapes up well.
I'll keep checking if in case it gets post-pone !!!

I will be the happiest person to join such a group to share my experience with all new immigrants
But I am EXTREMLY disappointed at the attitude of desis in India. Intead of understanding and accepting the harsh realities during initial period, they are simply asking irrelevent questions. Or downright criticizing or even ridiculing all those who have made such honest posts.
We have close to 1700 members on this board now. Take a look at response to thread titled How to find a Lobor Job. Other than 5/6 regular users, no body has bothered to spare a few seconds and post so that new immigrants can benefit.
Is this the level of spirit of community development?
Are south asians really ready to overtake China?
Thats why I have not jumped into fray so far and am having serious reservations about the whole idea.

cpm,
It takes all kinds to make this world we live in..for better of worse. However, very often, it takes only a few with vision to make a difference. Let us aspire to be one of the few. Not only for a short term goal of helping new immigrants (as important as that is), maybe even with a long term vision to building a united lobby group for south asians in Canada?

Onward :)!!

CPM,

Come on!

Are we doing these stuff to get good return? No, it is just for helping others. Just help and forget it. Otherwise don't help it.

To help someone and expecting return is not at all good mathematics!
