I plan to go to India early in April and get engaged and married in Court. I went through the cic.gc.ca site and understood all the formalaties i need to complete.
Should i also consult a lawyer since i will not be getting religiously married

Also is there anyone who has sucesslfuly sponsored their spouse give me their contact information, i would like to email/talk to them and get some better information so that i am confident going ahead with this.

Can u b kind enough to comment briefly on the following as it wud b helpful for prospective sponsors .

a. Who initiates the process (PR / spouse) and how soon can it be initiated upon landing of the PR.

b. What information does the PR need to furnish .

c. What information / docs does the spouse need to furnish .

d. What is the basic cycle of steps in the procedure and what is the timeline.
