I cannot say that the requirement is unfair because I suspect most countries have similar policies. The US federal government website shows this requirement as well.
Becoming a citizen shows commitment - that you've put in your three years and then went through the process to commit to life in Canada.
I do agree that empowerment and change are necessary facets of society however in this case I dont see the link between PR's and Government jobs.
Btw - I've worked for a few years at City and provincial levels.

I'm not saying that the requirement is unfair either. Let me explain what i am saying.
A cpl of people were trying to draw parallels between the fact that
PR's do not have access to govt jobs in Canada
and
State sanctioned religious preference by countries in the middle east.
My point that is that if people disagree with certain policies, they CAN be challenged and rectified in a democracy, even if you and I think the policy is fair.
One cannot challenge the laws in countries like Saudi Arabia. e.g: you cannot have property, build a house of worship, or even bring in a bible/gita or religious picture into the country etc. You are legally a second-class resident in such countries.

As an infidel, my life is always less worth than that of a muslim in any of the 57 Islamic countries in the world. This is state sponsored discrimination.
I tried to count the number of countries that have a state religion other than Islam and I couldn't find more than a dozen.
Also I am always afraid of suicide bombers blowing themselves up in public places for 72 virgins. I don't understand this 72 virgins concept. Can someone enlighten me on this

One religion's religious text is another religion's blasphemy.
For example, Muslims say all Hindu Gods are just Idols and are not God. And they are openly saying that (Hindu Gods are not Gods but devil) in mosques and every where. Now if all Hindus start protesting about this I would love to see if Muslims will stop disrespecting Hindu Gods?
Same with Jesus Christ. Muslims say he is just a prophet. That is an insult to all christians. So if all Christians start protesting, will Muslims stop saying that?

PLEASE LIVE THE WAY YOU WANT BUT DON'T IMPOSE YOUR RULES ON OTHERS. LIVE AND LET LIVE.
The doctor who is treating you couldn't have been able to treat you if he didn't study evolution and science which may be wrong according your religious beliefs. Please be sensible and keep your religion to yourself. Religion is a personal affair.
Doing destructive things like blowing up buildings and people due to religious reasons is not a great thing. It brings revulsion about that religion to people of other religions. You can never win hearts of other people by doing destructive activities. Only constructive activities and charitable actions (towards people of other religions)(often seen among many Christian, Buddhist and Hindu Organizations) will win hearts of other people. Love is more powerful than Bomb.

Christians have the similar indifferences with jews on that and they can even blame the jews for the atrocities on christ may be they can join you guys in the gungho.
