As all are aware that there were Civic Elections in Ontario and in GTA area all Desi Candidates lost the elections. There was an article in the ethenic news paper which is reproduced hereunder for open discussions on the subject matter.
\"Back home being student of Political Science, my teacher narrated me a story which goes as under:
Son: Dad, I have a special report for school. Can I ask you a question?
Dad: Sure son, what's the question?
Son: What is politics?
Dad: Well son, let's take our home for example. I am the wage earner, so let's call me the management. Your mother is the administrator of the money, so let's call her the government. We take care of you and your needs, so let's call you the people. We'll call the maid the working class and your baby brother the future. Understand?
Son: I'm not really sure dad; I'll have to think about it.
That night, the boy is awakened by his baby brother's crying, so he went to see what was wrong. Discovering that the baby had a heavily soiled nappy, the boy went to his parent's room and found his mother fast asleep. He than went to the maid's room, where, peeking through the keyhole, he saw his father in bed with the maid. The boy's knocking went totally unheard. The boy went back to his room and went to sleep.
The next morning...
Son: Dad, I think I understand politics.
Dad: That's great son, explain it to me in your own words.
Son: While the management is screwing the working class, the government is fast asleep, the people are being completely ignored and the future is full of shit.
All over the world there are literally hundreds of individuals, groups and parties, each vying and bandying not only with the enemy but also with each other. If there is ever to be a worldwide proletariat revolution, ushering in the Free and Golden Age of society, how can it be achieved with such division?
We are in the country of the greatest opportunities.
First of all, we live in a free country we have political freedom. We probably never even thought about it. Don't take it for granted - there are in the world many who pay the highest price for the freedom - their life
Then we have a personal freedom. Nobody rules our life. We have our rights that are made by the people for the people. We have freedom of choice. We can choose who we want to be, what we want to do, what we want to have.
There are countless opportunities that make it possible for us. Because we have economic freedom, we can make a career in corporate business, or in our own business.
But do you think all requirements made us eligible to represent the people in the in the streets, the communities and the adjoining localities. Let us not think about representing the municipalities and cities.
In the recent concluded civic elections in Greater Toronto Area, few self-styled leaders run the elections. It is proved and on record that they were not even recognized by their own neighborhoods and streets where they live in, what to tack about representing the other communities.
Have we understood the role of local leader and are we in a position to represent the communities, or we are just looking for that people sitting in civic hall attracts handsome salary? We need to decide what we want to be.
If the people allowed few individuals to run the municipalities, cities, provinces and federal governments, even the future of politics, and of the people would remain in shit.
Are we ready to run?
