Hello CD's!
I could not get a single (decent) opportunity in Canistan till now. I've been here last 2.5 years, and 6 more months for filing for my Canistan citizenship.
I started applying for US jobs and I'm delighted to inform you guys that job market is very hot for my field of Specialty Chemicals/Polymers/Plastics. I've already obtained 3 proposals and one is in advanced stage of negotiation. This is with GE in their corporate research centre in upstate NY. The salary is USD 135K with stock options. They are willing to get my H-1B done with filing now for October 2006 stamping. I'll file under the special 20,000 quota (US Masters Degree Holders)as I have my graduate education from US of A.
I want them to sponsor my green card under EB-1 or EB -2 classification. I've already signed up with Murthy Law Firm for doing my card. Murthy law firm has done a analysis on my back ground and have committed to me in writing that I stand a very good chance under EB-2, but will also file my case under EB-1. There are atleast 3 professors and 2 research scientists in US of A who would write letters of recommendation for my immigration.
It is nearly 5 years since I've been actively involved in US job negotiation(s).
I know there are many US veteran desis on the board, and I would like to solicit your views/advice on what are the issues I need to watch out for, ask for , get it in writing and avoid during negotiations, pitfalls based on the current situation in USof A.
I'll be very greatful for fellow CD's for your advice/views.

Speech by Thomas Friedman of The New York Times....
"When we were young kids growing up in America, we were told to eat our
vegetables at dinner and not leave them. Mothers said, 'think of the
starving children in India and finish the dinner.' And now I tell my
children: 'Finish your maths homework. Think of the children in India
who would make you starve, if you don't.'"
Watch Out for "Retrogession". Getting an H1b is the easy part, getting a Green Card is quite another matter. You can find more info on Retrogession on http://www.greencardlawyers.com/greencards/visa_retrogression.html
