How do you find Accommodation in areas other than Tornonto,Vancouver,Mont.?

I know many desis are living outside of multicultural areas...
It is easy to find accommodation in metro cities such as Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal..
But How do you find temporary accommdation in remote areas....??
I need a place to live in Barrie area .. There may be some desis living in that area, but how do you reach them?

I know a desi in Barrie. He is studying to get residency in a Vet. doctor programme. He is staying as a paying guest.

What kind of accomodation are you looking for? 1 room, basement, apartment , condo, paying guest ?

Every small town has a newspaper which is sold in local grocery stores. Try picking that up and look through the apartments for rent section.
