My friend after living 18 years in markham and working with Fedral Govt on a contract in Ottawa moved to India with a job. He was able to get a job with a good salary ( 63 lakhs/year, I saw the appointment letter) + perks. It worked out perfectly for him as he was the only son his own son is in some US university pursuing a Medical degree.
The interview was done in Hilton Markham about 9 months ago. I reveive good emails from him that he is happy. One thing he noticed that his company is very aggresive and after lucrative contracts in middle east and Europe.
It happened after 2nd interview.
So as you see some people really manage to get things done.

These kind of oppertunities happen once in a blue moon. I mean, getting a Top job in India from Canada and the subsequent relocation.
However it is very easy to get Good jobs once you go to India and then search for it. By this , i mean that you must go to cities which require such professionals. If you are in IT, then you must try Pune, B'lore, H'bad etc.. and not go to Madurai and look for a top IT job.
OTOH, I was interviewed as an Architect (Telephonic) for a refinery in Oman. They did not give me the job once they found out that i had not Petroleum experience. By Canada, they thought that i may have some experience in the oil and gas sector.
It is very easy to get jobs in the ME with Canadian passport. People say that hire you once they see your passport and english (but may fire you later if they find out that you are no good- so you have to be very pro active). The only problem the amount of money needed from here to go there and look for a job.

I know few professors from georgian college, barrie, Ontario; who are working for the extended campus of georgian college in India i.e Canadian Institute For International Studies. They too worked for a canadian college by living in India, and they are getting close to 2 lakh per month (in indian rs), from college authorities to live and teach there. so I find them very happy, as we all know that living expenditure in India is far less then in Canada. and a person earning 2 lakh a month live a king life in India. many return after 6 month or a yr of teaching in India and some are living there from last 2 yrs or so.

Good info regarding ME. The indian companies came to Markham to recruit people. My friend was one of the lucky ones. I came to know through him that quite a few local canadians are also working there. In fact I talked to a L&T recruiter who metioned to me that this year they have to recruit local europeans for call centers as they go a lot of call center business from various european language speaking countries. It was far effective to get the east europeans rather have an indian trained in native language. They do not have to deal with accent issues that way and fear loosing the contract after some time.
I was wondering if anybody knows how to find IT management contracts in ME? I tried the dubai thread but it was more of bashing each other rather then sharing info.

Dear Mercury
Rs. 63 Lakhs/year offer in India which is equivalent to $160, 000 Canadian Dollar offer, certainly a great offer.
Once I hear, but I am not sure Shri.K.V. Kamath, a CEO of ICICI annual salary in the range of 4 to 6.5 Lakhs, may be your friend is in the same level.
If you dot mind, what was your friend salary in Canada? I am not curious about his salary number but just to understand few things.
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards
