Little miss muffet :P. BTW, I am not afraid of spiders, but the animal that scares hell out of me is a lizard. They are so yucky, so ugly - a complete abomination. I still can't understand why God created lizards in first place. Unable to see their place in the food chain. Same with rats/mice.

Spiders in Canada? Or maybe, because I do not have an attic.

But I have heard people complaining about croakroaches and rats in their apartments in Canada. Says lots about level of cleanliness and maintenance in the building.

Worse, I have seen a rat in one of the grocery stores in Islington/Albion area.

Where there is rice and rotton vegetables, there will be rats. So this will be true for all indian/ sri lankan and other grocery stores. It is very hard to get rid of it. May be it is true for dirty food courts as well.
We had a rat problem in our office. We hired an exterminator and what he did was
1. he sealed the holes in the wall (contact points with outside).
2. Used traps with bait to catch them (existing in the office).
We have no rat problem now in our office.
