My Views,
I am not totally against reservation thou i believe that its a politician mantra to collect votes.
i read everyone's comments and it gave me an impression that all think that ppl of lower caste are dumb,dull, language improficient, unintelligent and not smart.
To some extent i agree to it coz i,ve personally seen such ppl who are really not intelligent but i,ve also seen ppl from reserve class who are smart n intelligent and some of them are extra ordinary.
i know one of the guy from reserve category who topped all 4 yrs of his B.tech in one of the premier REC.
Going back why reservation was introduced ....
This is about those intelligent lower class ppl, not about the dumb ones
ppl of lower class complete their schooling and graduation coz of fee reduction and all and some of them may excel in their studies but when they go to apply for jobs then they were never hired
reason , ppl of higher class on high post reject them
they will prefer first of all their relatives,frens.... ppl of their own caste ... bribery ........
they used to hire lower class ppl for low level jobs similar to what here in Canada, immigrant doctors,engineers work in Tim horton, gas station,pizza delivery.
these were the reason, reservation was introduced so that deserving ppl can get the education and right job.
My opinion is that deserving ppl shud be given opportunity irrespective of casteism n all.
So i am not totally against reservation.

I am totally against reservation on caste basis. Maximum reservation for any class should be maximum 10%. Otherwise we should give reservation on everything, like drop Shewag/Yuvraj/Sachin/Dravid/Dhoni and take Lallu/Ram Niwas/etc... same for airforce/pilots, etc.
And one most important thing is let Manmohan/Sonia/Advani/all politicians if once go to forward caste doctor (50%) then, need to visit OBC/SC/ST doctor in next visit. You need to use those doctors too, once they become doctor. Every second flight these politicians take should have backward class pilot. In this way, we will get rid of most of them sooooooon.
TK, do you know, when this guy Arjun Singh was chief minister of Madhya Pradesh (I think in late 80s or early 90s), student from SC/ST had got admission in engineering college at -ve marks in total (-ve marking). Remember at that time engineering seats were limited & not many private colleges too like now-a-days. After that year, they made compulsory that student should get atleast 25% marks (& removed -ve marking, as I remember)

How funny is that statement!!
I have seen poor people working as servants who are from so called forward castes. Now tell me with reservation based on caste, how will they achieve the dream of giving good education to their children?
Also I have seen people from so called Scheduled Castes live in mansions and go about in expensive cars because their parents are high level government officers/doctors etc. Why do children of these people be given reservation?
I am sure you are intelligent enough to understand what i ask. if you still don't get my point, I have to assume your post is biased.

R u sure about this,cuz getting admission on -ve points totally nullifies the idea of conducting exam.
if they have to admit on -ve points then whats the point of conducting those exams n wasting money n time over it.
i know about one such incident
REC, allahabad conducted exam and none of the reserve class ppl were able to qualify the exam, so the exam was reconducted for reserve category ppl and then the ppl who qualified were given admission.
i guess for reserve class ppl there is a minimum marks criteria to qualify which is lower than the general class but i dont think so that any univ. has given admission to ppl with -ve marking.
i think its a lie or rumour.
