Trying to find out, if there is anybody else on this board (or in this world) that hates cinnamon as much as I do.

I am not allergic to cinnamon, but I just can't stand the smell of that spice. I find the smell of cinnamon quite nauseating, offensive and disgusting (I can tolerate "tejpatta" though)

At home, my mom keeps the cinnamon container, far off from the main spice rack. At my sisters home, she takes care not to use cinnamon in any of the food, when I am invited to her home.

I have tough time passing through those cinnabon restaurant. Worst is the Eglinton subway station, where the entire station reeks of that smell. And God helps if a passenger sits next to me in transit, eating that cinnamon flavoured gum. I am in hell being tortured.

Till date, I have met only one person who has the same dislike for cinnamon as me. Is there anybody else?

Specifically, cinnamon improved participants’ scores on tasks related to attentional processes, virtual recognition memory, working memory, and visual-motor speed while working on a computer-based program. Participants were exposed to four odorant conditions: no odor, peppermint odor, jasmine, and cinnamon, with cinnamon emerging the clear winner in producing positive effects on brain function. Encouraged by the results of these studies, researchers will be evaluating cinnamon’s potential for enhancing cognition in the elderly, individuals with test-anxiety, and possibly even patients with diseases that lead to cognitive decline. My hubby is not a big fan of cinnamon either...... but he doesnt hate it. hate is a pretty strong word.

I don't mind cinnamon, in fact it's a must in alot of indian cooking, but my hubby's tongue swells up when he has cinnamon flavoured gum.

On a side note if anybody finds my comments or posts offensive or irritating please ignore it and if that still bothers you; please write to me and I will demonstrate.

I used to find cinnamon irritating in the initial days. But now I got used to eating stuff that has cinnamon. I am still not a big fan of cinnamon.

They do use cinnamon in Indian foods but presence of other spices tempers down the effect of cinnamon.
