Flew by AF last week. Reached sunday night to Bangalore. Flight was on time in reaching Blore. Baggage was intact and came with the flights. Food was ok, nothing Indian. From Paris to Blore, the only Indian thing was the terse welcome message in hindi, that too recorded. No desi inflight crew, all French, reluctant to speak in English. No hindi movie, songs, etc. TV infront of every seat showing cartoons, french and english movies. Free drinks. Inflight crew ppear to be very reluctant to do their work, as if they are doing a favor to the passengers. Learn few words in french if u want to fly.
IMO, Lufthansa is far far better
My AF flight from BOM to CDG had in-flight entertainment with hindi movies as an option.
Here is what happened on the AF flight from CDG to BOM. We were about to start our meal, when the seat back of the passenger sitting adjacent to me, one row ahead, broke. Yes, it literally broke spilling the food of the passenger sitting behind on her lap from the food tray. Me and few others helped the passenger of the broken seat to gather her composure while helping clean the spill of the other girl.
I think the broken seat passgr was moved to the 1st class cabin while the broken seat was bundled up and left there. Of course, we all had a good laugh after everything was settled.
Then remember, there was this AF flight from CDG to TOR that crashed and burned (Aug 2005). I flew the same flight number 3 days later to TOR. After the flight landed and came to a safe slow speed, there was an appreciative round of applause !! I think, there were a number of passgrs who pretty much believed that we were also gonna crash and burn.
Then walking the long ramp and corridors towards Cdn immigration, I saw this message board with my name prominently posted. Oh no...there goes my baggage again. So, I walked to the AF customer service to learn the already known inevitable...my baggage didn't fly with me. Got it after 5 days.
Makes for an interesting story-telling when my kid grows up
