dear all,
just checking if any dubai CD has transferred his driving record from dubai to canada - for purposes of lowering insurance premium.
if so, would appreciate receiving your advice on how to do so.

Yes helps a bit, bring it along and do a defensive training course here. That helps to lower insurance. Also go to the car auction and buy a car directly from the auction. that way you will only haveto pay third party insurance (trust me even that is massive here, bud)

What does that mean? You can choose to have only third party insurance on a brand new car too...
Also, the question is very specific. The poster is "checking to see if any dubai CD has transferred his driving record from dubai to canada". Have you? If yes, it wouldn't hurt to include more details than "yes, it helps".

I thinking the word 'it helps' means a yes, unless your understanding of English happens to be more superior then me. I assume anybody comeing into this country would rather buy a resale car with lower insurance premium then a new car with much higher insurance. Wake up bluesy

Sometimes very old cars have higher premium than newer cars because older cars don't have better alarm systems, passenger safety protection devices etc. So what you say is not necessarily true.
By the way what is logic behind 'buying a car directly from auction'? can you explain further so that people who are buying cars (which is a costly item) will be benefitted?
