My experience is the brands like Revlon etc is available dime a dozen and people have little value. It is not the same India as it was 2 years ago. Things are changing very fast in India.
I tried $250 motorola quad band phone this time and you can buy a little cheaper in India (same phone).
I find good chocolates sells very well as gifts. especiall swiss/european made.

Leena,
Try some show piece item ( small one). Chocolates is very popular. There is a warehouse near birchmount and lawrence in east end of the city. They have very very good prices and european brands. (south of ellesmere and north of lawrence adjacent to mcgregor socks outlet.
Some winter clothes will be appreciated like jacket/ sweater pull over etc.
My relatives enjoyed a lot especially German & Swiss made.
I can't think of anything else.

You can buy perfumes from millenium 3000 store in toronto, Walmart bath gift packs look good too. Then we always can give Shampoos, moisturizers, body wash, soft slippers to wear at home for older parents/grandparents. For school going kids.. colorful water bottles, lunch boxes or unique school supplies are always a delight. You dont have to spend a lot but uniquesness should be the key.
