How about working more than 20 hours with off-campus work permit ( as long as employer offers more hours to work ) ....
Will that affect some one's PR file who has already applied for Canadian immigration under federal skilled catagory.. ?
I know there's a same law in UK as well but students work more than 20 hours over there...
A friend of mine is good with his studies, but he has only three subject left to complete in his last semester. So he was thinking of working more than 20 hours as he has a good paying job...
Experts suggest something please..
Even if you do work overtime , how is immigration going to figure that out

it is nice to be important..but it is more importanat to be NICE
Immigration has the authority to subpoena records from Revenue Canada. You pretty much signed away your rights when you apply for PR by essentially saying that you give them the right to verify all information on your file.
While you may get away with it(working more than 20 hrs or whatever), don't be under the illusion that CIC Canada really cannot find this information if they want to.
Another aspect would be - wether revenue canada can track your allowable hours from your SIN no.? If they can, and they do, they will look to take appropriate measures to either warn, suspend and/or penalise either the SIN holder or the employer...
Just my 2 pennies..

your employer can always tweak the figures .
Lets say you work 20 hours a week @ 12 / hr on paper .
But you actually worked 30 hours a week @ 8 / hr
But the point is are you able to work 30 hours and yet focus on a full-time course load ? 15 hours is my threshold
