CD's,
Last Saturday, I had been to Loblaws. The man in the front of me had the same credit card as mine (PC Financial Mastercard). When my turn came, I handed over my credit card to the Cashier. As soon as she saw my credit card, She saw that she had 2 credit cards and then ran to the previous customer to hand him his forgotten credit card and then gave a credit card to me. The purchase at loblaws was for $2.19. The next day, I mad a purchase in Walmart for $297.89. I then went to sears and bought a dress and then while i was handing my credit card to the Cashier found that i had a different PC Mastercard. I then realised that the exchange had been done in loblaws.
I called PC Mastercard. The Security CSR was very cool. When i told him the happening, he asked the number of the credit card that i had right now and the name on it. He then asked my phone number and address. He then told me that he will lock the credit card and send me a new one. I told him that there was a more simpler way. He could give me the address of the individual and i could go there and exchange the card for which he refused. I also told him that i had made a purchase of $300 in the other man's credit card and he then asked me for the time of the exchane. I also asked him why he never wanted my name or my credit card number and he told me that he can find it out from my phone number. i asked the security CSR as to if my pre authorsised payments will be held or not and he said that any such pre auth. paymentswill go through.
As on date (wednesday night) i still have not received any phone call nor a new credit card. I am disapointed with their service for replacement of the card. Quite frankly, I am unable to lead my day to day life without the convenience of this plastic master card (the only active card that i have right now)
Experienced Senior CD's can shed some more light on the inside activities of these credit card companies.

Sidenote: This post is not to document what happened in my life but rather to inform New Junior CD's what to expect if such similar thing happened in their life while being in Canada.

and the adventures continue........
by the way, why take out MC for 2$ purchase, just wondering????
TK,
If you need credit card urgently, call the issuing bank and ask them that you don't have any other credit card and they will send you by next day delivery courier.
It's not only you, other person might also have used your card. So, they will be cancelling both the cards and issuing new cards to both of you. They can't give other person contact details to you - privacy issue and also once credit card no. had been compromised, it should be cancelled.
You should check your next statement carefully, as you had told them the time & place of 'card switch' and they will be transfering the charges from that time until card cancellation to you card & vice-versa.
Once you received your new credit card, make sure to update your new credit card no. for any pre-authorised payments.

This is what normally has to be done,
Here is my take, if this is true, why would you handover your card before your merchandise is swiped and bill is printed?
The cashier would not take card before printing the bill after swiping the merchandise, this she/he would do only after the person in front of you has been cleared. I quit don’t get this.
Or is this your meeting daily quota of posting.
TK,
Did you watch "The Angrez"...and heard the C word used repeatedly....got it!!!

CD's,
Let me clarify the questions/ observations.
1. I always use the credit card be it a $1.38 small french fries, or a $2.19 for 1/4 dark cooked chicken meat or a $0.51 mint pack.
2. The cashier at loblaws was a new trainee. the other guy in front of the line kept on hitting her by asking "where do you live", "how much do they pay you", "how many hours do you work" etc... She was replying and working. In the confusion, she forgot to give him the receipt and credit card back. When my turn came, she swiped my credit card and when she gave me the bill to sign. Once i signed and when she was going to keep the bill in the drawer, she found the other guy's bill and credit card and in the confusion, she ran and gave him my credit card.
Hope this clarifies the discrepancy. It is a true story. As of today, I still have not recd. my new credit card and i am going to see online if my original account is still available online so that i can see what is going on.
3. Charlie, I donot understand your posting. PM me the clarifications.
