Good to know UCMAS is there in Toronto too!
On my recent visit to India I saw my niece whos 8 yrs taking UCMAS classes since a year. I think addotion and subtraction are fine but I was amazed to see her doing multiplications and divisions also mentally.
It was fun to see my dad and her having quiz time every sunday and her quick calculations for her age I feel are incredible.

Can someone give me the address for these classes in Missg. I wud like to recommend it to a couple of friends who complain that math here is very low level.

This gap of mathematical ability between India and Canada will remain and becomes much pronounced at higher level. The problem starts when the teacher from high school starts off with calculus by saying that you would have learnt all the basics at the lower classes while the teacher at the lower level says that you will learn everything at the higher classes. The only way to stop this is for you to say, \"The Buck Stops Here !.\". By any chance your children have to go to India for higher education in any field related to Science, Engineering and Technology they will literally Die !. I met a family who moved their son to India and he ended becoming a mental case and had to be brought back to Toronto. The quality of math, science and IT education is high and also competitive.

We need to put them through the rigour if not they will go into fields like B.A in Gymnastics, Linguistics, Pshycology, Sociology, English or related soft fields. I'm not saying these fields are not to be studied but for financial growth we need to have education in techonology to have far more financial success.

There is a UCMAS franchise in Mississauga run by a Gujarathi gentleman, I think he charges $80 per month and has session on Saturdays and Sundays. His class room is right near the intersection of Dundas and HWY 10. It is on the Chinese Market in the second floor and adjacent to Dr.Shantakumars clinic.

UCMAS location in Mississauga [hy10 / dundas] is not only on sat and sundays, but also during the whole week. My son goes every tuesday evenings for 2 hours.
