Does the Ministry of Transport here in Ontario issue a state ID like most states in US do ?

It is a real hassle for someone who does not have a Drivers License to keep carrying there PR Card or Passport where ever id is required. Also giving the PR Card reveals your immigration status and then begins the occasional shit customer service that you get from people for being an immigrant.

I read the posts on the meeting that was recently organized and feel, should have paid more attention to when it was held.

Looking forward to the next one, whenever it is held and would not mind paying to cover the costs for arranging the place.

If some one does not know how to drive a car and does not have a driving license, that person should at least try to get G1 driving license for which he/she just have to clear a written test (NOT A DRIVING TEST) and that G1 driving license has your photo on it and can be used for your photo ID.
I had to do the same thing for my wife as she does not know driving but every time for a PHOTO ID we faced this problem and hence I persuaded her to take the written test and not she has a G1 which is used as a photo ID.
