M Kannuri,
I have written to the moderators regarding this.
I, until very recently, used to live in that area and was looking for a cheap desi restaurant to buy take out food. I once got the flyer of this restaurant (under old management, I presume) and the prices were above the roof. May be their target audience was the rich whites who live in the lakeshore area. Once I saw their rates, It made no sense for me to even go and check that place outs.
Maybe some rich desi's can visit his place.

I can guarantee you guys if you visit this restaurant once , you will be amazed and would to surprised that how come you never knew about this restaurant.

It is at 3007 Lake shore Blvd W , Etobicoke, ON and the Name is "Bombay On The Lake. It;s under new management. It is exactly at Lake shore and Islington.

I have been there so many time and the best part is the taste and quality is always the same. It's delicious and the service is very personal, what else you want.

They have both Veg and Non- Veg. and LLBO , Ideal to have a small get together or party.

Hi Lax13,
Does this place belongs to u :-) lol

Ofcourse...:)

IMO, food here (GTA) is bad because the cooks have no talent! As somebody else pointed out, these establishments are mostly run by entreprenuers who may not have passion for cooking. But when faced between choosing a career in SAP-BW/Amway/etc and running a restaurant, they chose the later.

Some ingredients may be different from the ones used in India, but then how do you explain food in London(UK)? Some folks believe London has the finest Indian food available, and this is due to successful fusion of Continental ingredients with desi spices. No mean feat considering European flavour is primarily based on herbs and desi flavour comes from spices.

hello all CD's

Finding a good and affordable north indian restaurant seems to still be a challange in GTA. Lot of claims have been made on this website in the past. The one recently made was for a new restaurant called "Bombay on the lake". We( 4 friends) visited the restaurant over the weekend on lunch. The main reason for going was I really liked the name and also I am from Bombay so I was lured into going there....BUt......ha... another great disappointment... VERY VERY EXPENSIVE FOOD. We spent about $75 for average food. All the food is very expensive. As mentioned by tamilkuravan and others its really meant for white people or rich desis. But I warn you, even if you want to spend so much of money, Nirvana, host, or even tandori flame are much better to go to in terms of quality or ambience. I, personally would not recomend this particular restaurant if you want good quality food at reasonable price. Plus as pointed out by hchheda, it really beongs to somebody called lax13. I did not find anybody there who looked like an owner. We never bothered to even talk to anybody regarding the price because we had to go to a game at rogers center after that.

But I thought to warn fellow CD's to be aware of people posting messages as an advertisement for their own restaurants (proabably they like the food because they don't have to pay for themselves...LOL!) claiming the food to be of very good quality..

P.S. check their online menu and the prices before going..

Please continue to post suggestions of good Indian restaurants if you come across..as the serach for good indian restaurant is still on....

Sometime ago I happened to came across a website where there was a forum where waiters and waitresses made several posts. I was shocked to learn that most of them were in favour of spitting in the food of customers they didn't like. Many did spit in the food out of frustration.

Check this website to learn about a law suit Pizza Hut is facing:

BTW, would appreciate inputs for getting authentic fresh Tandoori Roti in GTA.

 and Bon appetite

are they still there? i would like to try out tangerine.
