Read this - typical attitude I have tried to bring around 
After the Jhulasan and Nardipur trip, Sunita was felicitated by Gujarat University in Ahmedabad, with Chief Minister Narendra Modi joining the organisers. Modi also recalled how he had first met Sunita when the late Haren Pandya had introduced them in 1975 or 1976.
Interestingly, Sunita later clarified to the press that she did not recall the encounter (with Modi) and that she had not visited India in ‘70s.

JUST GO ABOUT BUSINESS AS USUAL . NOTHING HAS BEEN ACHIEVED FOR INDIA.
You might loose your citizenship and passport if you are born and bred in America or if you marry an American citizen. But you do not loose you Indian hertiage ....... actually this is not something peculiar to Indian's ... a lot of time people have commented about it being a colonial hangover..... a lot of people from different countries who immigrate to settle in a different country carry the same tag.
Even here in Canada , Jim Carrey , is considered a Canadian even though he has got an American citizenship and married an "american"
Of course you go about your bussiness, no sir we will not disturb you . But dont go around pretending that you have the copyright on Indian culuture or heritage.

Sunita to address astronauts’ meet in Hyderabad ZEE NEWS:
Astronaut Sunita Williams will recount the complex technological challenges associated with the International Space Station (ISS) to a galaxy of scientists from across the world in Hyderabad on September 28. These scientists — about 2,000 of them, including head honchos of space agencies of the US, Russia, Japan, China, Canada, Europe and India — will flock together at the 58th International Astronautical Congress (IAC 2007) to take place in Hyderabad from September 24-28.
On the last day of IAC 2007, Sunita Williams will talk about her experiences in operating the International Space Station from December 2006 to June 2007.

Her colleague, William Gerstenmaier, Associate Administrator for Space Operations, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), will talk about the key international achievements to date (onboard the space outpost) and the road ahead. The ISS will cross a key milestone in 2010 when it completes construction of this unique facility.
At IAC 2007, scheduled to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, space scientists and key representatives of big ticket companies will address topics such as space transportation, communication satellites, Earth observation, human spaceflight, exploration of outer space and the planets, and space law. The theme of the Congress is "Touching Humanity: Space for Improving Quality of Life", according to sources in the International Astronautical Federation (IAF).
Alongide this conference, a business conclave will be held to knit contracts between researchers, manufacturers, service providers and representatives of federal governments, in the sphere of aerospace industry. By 2009, the global aerospace market will touch an estimated value of $1,380 billion.
"The conclave is planned to highlight the huge market to Indian companies and open India`s capability to the world. It is important for India to set a higher national agenda and encourage public-private partnerships or we will be left behind," said ISRO chairman G. Madhavan Nair.

Sunita Williams meets Sonia
New Delhi, Sep 29 : Indian-American astronaut Sunita Williams, who spent a record 195 days in space, today met UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi here.
Dressed in an off-white embroidered salwar suit, the 42-year-old astronaut was accompanied by some family members at the meeting lasting nearly 40 minutes.
Williams is slated to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and other dignitaries during her stay in the capital.
The astronaut, who arrived here to a warm welcome this morning, will be in Delhi till October four.
She will interact with school children on Monday and share with them her experience as a space traveller.

There are people on this thread who are pretty sure that 'nothing' has been acheived for India or will be achieved...ever due to, by or as an offshoot of Sunita Williams. Thankfully the Indian govt and aerospace industry does not think in such black and white terms and seems to show better business sense by leveraging her visit
