Ouch is all I will say afer watching the match yesterday. Dammit, they should've played Sreesanth!

Are you there?
Sree was on the bench today, still sledging the Aussies from the boundary line and near dressing room. Looks like he is more inclined towards Ponting and Symonds. Good for him. Ponting has openly complained abt it. Taste of their own medicine. Hope they learn something out of this. We need another 2-3 players who can do lhis to Aussies. Otherwise sledging by Aussies go unchecked.

Responding to criticism from Australian players, the temperamental Sreesanth told an Australian newspaper: "They are all legends. It is a dream come true to play against Ricky Ponting or Matthew Hayden. I am a child of the game, I am still learning. I am sure most of them went through things when they were inexperienced like me. Hopefully, I will learn faster."
I am sure he is refering to Sledging Game

If you ask me, the likes of McGrath and Symonds are the A-holes of cricket.
Bowlers far more aggressive than either of these, like some of the W.Indies bowlers, were far better gentlemen on the field (and off the field) than these full-of-themselves clowns.
Courtney Walsh, Ambrose.
Even the likes of Malcom Marshall, Joel Garner from 20 years ago were far better gentlemen.
I recall the "duels" between Walsh and Tendulkar during the late 1990s when Walsh would set-up Tendulkar by bowling round the wicket, slanting across the right-hander and getting him caught in the slips or gully.
It was a very aggressive and intimidating strategy.
But at no point were Walsh or Ambrose engaging in the kind of nonsense that the Aussies do.

Anyone following the 6th ODI? Looks like India is faltering against the spin. Are'nt we supposed to be good against spin bowling? Brad Hogg has two wickets and Symonds bowling tightly.

As expected we were short by about 20 runs. We missed atleast half a dozen runs by Saurav's poor running between the wickets. Sachin need not have tried the poor paddle sweep, get unbalanced and get stumped. Playing in the V would have fetched him the required runs. The paddle or reverse sweep either doesn't connect and even if it does, is stopped by the short fine leg or short third man fielder. Doesn't fetch many runs, but all Indian players are fond of the stroke.
By the way, I do agree that we do have a lot of players from smaller centres (in terms of financial clout). Only meant that between the metropolis themselves there is a lot bias. Strongly feel that Sadagopan Ramesh would have played for some more years, if had been from Mumbai or Delhi. If we look back, Dhoni was overlooked in preference to 16 year old Parthiv Patel from Baroda. By the way, not sure whether we can call Baroda a smaller centre as compared to other metropolis. Anshuman Gaekwad and recently Kiran More from Baroda have been Chairman of Selection Committee. The city has a separate Ranji team for over 50 years. They were Ranji champions quite a few times. However, the welcome trend of players from lesser known centres is only a recent one. Other than recent times, Pataudi was the only obscure town from which a player was selected for international cricket. That too when the player studied in Oxford and played for Hyderabad.
