I find there is another model Tom Tom OneXL S, this has Text to Speech feature, how about the one you have got does it support TTS? Is this really necessary?
I am also close to buying one, soon
Thanks

TomTom One XL does not have TTS and so far I have not found the need . It does have a SD card slot . ($139/-) http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3575571&Sku=T529-0018%20RB
TomTom one 3rd edition does not have SD slot but is smaller and more handy then XL ($121/-) http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3796220&csid=_21
Another Hotbuy is Garmin C330 which features a SD slot . ($99/-) http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=4131967&sku=A566-0004&SRCCODE=CANWGOOGPS&cm_mmc_o=7BBTkwCjC-p8ByplCjCabTwyKbywgfCjCmH4
Neither of the above units has TTS. GPS is a must have for safety and navigation in unfamiliar places .

If someone is looking for a high end GPS, the Garmin Nuvi 770 is currently on sale at Costco for $439.99 - $250 off..

Will any of these work in India? Can maps of India locations be downloaded on to them? Any experience using these in India?
Finally, I narrowed down on Garmin Nuvi 260 fully loaded with latest maps of US + Canada from Kinjii for $225, although the set is refurbished it comes with one year warranty. It supports TTS or Text To Speech function and is reviewed very well as entry level product for the 200 series.
As for the HTC Touch Dual phone, I figured out I need a Bluetooth GPS reciever ($50) + Tom Tom software (<$100) this can make my mobile handset as GPS navigator which I plan to use as offline reference for the second car.
Appreciate the help, tips and suggestions from all concerned.

Hi
Was going through this thread of which one is the best GPS, but I am still confused as to which one to finally go in for!!
TT XL340S (4.3) - FS - $169 - includes street names and speed readout if you are going above the limit, will be of immense help to me since I normally end up speeding in an area that I am not familier with.
Garmin Nuvi 255W (4.3) - FS - $179 - includes street names and speed readout, but no Bluetooth feature.
TT XL335S (4.3) - Walmart - $ 168 - includes street names.
really confused
