scarborough area, need some honest plumber who does not charge the sky, (tried all other failed home remedies draino,plunger etc)
Cannot help with the plumber but have you tried the plumbers snake?
You get it at home depot for under $20(manual type). However, try removing the stopper and basket strainer first so you know you can get a snake in there. A plumber may do the same thing.

If you are handly person, then there could be problem in P trap which could be blocked
or
you can put some drano in sink, sometime it helps
