Hello Friends
If this question is a repeation please forgive me.
I am planning to go India in June. I am a PR in Canada(residing in Windsor).I have US visa for 10years and I-94 valid till June 28.I will be back to Canada(windsor) in August 2008.
Can I fly from Detroit to India?
Will I get a new I-94 When i return on arrival?
are they anything that I should know on the entry and exit points both in India and US AND Canada as far as visas/I-94 are concerned.
Your answers to this will be highly appreciated.
Once again apologize if this question is a repeatition to you.
Regards
MK

Assuming you have B1/B2 visa. Therefore, one thing you might want to check is if there is a C1 visa. I know there is a C1 status for transit.
Anyway, IF B1/B2 is acceptable for you to transit through DTW on your return, then yes, you can fly from DTW to India. You will surrender your I-94 at the gate or check-in and fill out a new one on the plane on the way back. You will need a white I-94.
Things to expect:
There may be customs and immigration agents on the jetway while boarding the plane at DTW (exiting US) asking what you were doing in the US.
All passengers traveling on US bound carriers and US airlines are subject to interview in India while leaving India and boarding a flight to US. This interview happens at the gate or check in or on the jetway and takes about 2 to 5 minutes.
Also, interviews may occur at connecting airports (ex: Amsterdam) when boarding connecting flights to India and US.

Hi,
Do the above mentioned procedures change when one is on a L1B Visa?
I came to the US from India on a L1B Visa for a indian company. The L1B was valid for 3 years . I Worked for a year in the company and then moved to canada ( using my Canadian PR). While coming to Canada from the US , i did not return the I-94.
DO i need to return the I-94? If i dont return it now, can i use it to enter the US later when i want to go there? I no longer work for the company that brought me to the US on L1B .
Please advise.
Apologies , if this has been dealt with in some other post, i couldnt find it.
Thanks,
Morpheus
