Hiren,
What they are looking for in an enclosed space where they can celebrate Holi (along with colour splashing and music), the atmosphere which a temple canot give-atleast to my knowledge. I thought that some one from CD will volunteer a space for the celebration but unfortunately till not no one has come forward. I would be glad to book my apartment's party hall for the event but unfortunately I am located away from the GTA.
The other option is to rent a space in a community centre / arena but the time is too late for booking/ co ordination and money collecting.
Hope some one volunteers and the event goes on.
My best wishes for the same and a Happy Holi.
TK A

Hey don't feel sad SB cheerup!
We all wanted to get together or else no one would have said yes in the first place and i am sure we all could open our homes if we had enough space. If there was no snow we could have chosen some good picnic spot in open!!!
We still have time and even if nothing materialises then may be next time!!!
"Dukhee mat ho Holi Hai
Bura Na Mano Holi Hai
Nacho gao Holi Hai"
Don't miss out on putting some gulal on kids's faces and make them wonder whats wrong with mommy shes the one making mess today!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thx HelloG...

LISTEN EVERYBODY.......THERE IS THIS PLACE BEHIND 'FRANK MCKECHNIE COMMUNITY CENTRE' ON BRISTOL ROAD(NEAR HWY 10).....THIS PLACE HAS A ROOF AND TABLES UNDER IT, THE SNOW IS VERY LITTLE AND THE WALKWAYS ARE PRETTY CLEAR. ITS NEAR THE SPLASH PAD BEHIND THE CENTRE, AND I WENT THERE NOW JUST TO CHECK IF WE CAN MEET THERE, IT SEEMS GOOD.

NOW REGARDING WHEN SHOULD WE MEET.....MOST LIKELY TOMORROW, COS ITS '0' DEGREE CELSIUS AND NO WINDCHILL WITH BRIGHT SUNNY DAY. IF WE PLAN TO MEET ON 22ND, MOST LIKELY THERE WILL BE WINDCHILL AND AN OUTDOOR MEETING WILL NOT BE A BEST IDEA WITH KIDS........SO DECIDE IF YOU ALL CAN MEET TOMORROW AND WHAT TIME?

REGARDING FOOD, IF ITS TOO MUCH HASSLE, LETS JUST GET SOME MITHAIS AND SAMOSAS AND DRINKS AND COLOR.

ONCE AGAIN.........THESE ARE THE THINGS I NEED TO KNOW FROM U ALL:

1) CAN WE MEET IN THE PARK OF THE CENTRE MENTIONED ABOVE?
2) CAN WE MEET TOMORROW?
3) DO YOU ALL WANT TO BRING FOOD OR JUST SWEETS/SAMOSAS/DRINKS
4) WHAT TIME WE ALL ARE MEETING? IS 3PM OK??

PLEASE PM/EMAIL ME WITH YOUR PHONE#S IN CASE WE ARE LATE TO REPLY THE POSTS.

SB,
It is not a good idea to meet / spend significant time outside with no walls. Many who are proposing to come have infants / toodlers and 1/2 hour outside (with even winter clothing) can lead to serious cold / infections. I donot think it is a good idea.
What I would suggest is that you meet inside a shopping mall / IKEA and then use the food court for lunch / snacks.
When people mail you their phone numbers, you could talk about this kind of alternatives.
All the best. I am located outside of the GTA otherwise could have joined / made more effort to get an enclosed space.
