NY , you are 100%right.
Please note-I said 'dubai is dreamland for a tourist having lot of money to spend.'

TamilK you seem to be decided to buy property in dubai. All the best.

For other CDs I would like to say-
1-A fat commission per deal is earned by an agent --Thats why any agent will make deal very attractive.
2-if you are talking abt Oil reserves -please do some research -how much dubai has it??
3-If you think that father can sponsor son anytime ?--NO--a father can only sponsor a son up to the age of 18 yrs.as he completes 18 yrs SON can not live in UAE on father's visa.but can stay on students' visa or emplyment visa.Whereas daughter can stay on fathers visa till she gets married.
*One can not work on a visit visa.
*There is nothing called as free work visa''One need to have employer to sponsor to get employment visa.AND Acc. to law one should work only under his/her sponsor.
4-there is a age limit for jobs thats 60 yrs.[flexible only for doctors/professors etc]
5-Where are the jobs in dubai???Please find out yourself :).
6-EMIRATISATION is stressed/encouraged and govt has a target to complete.
7-Even a labourer[mazdoor] require to show his/her secondary certificate to get labour card. And each certificate is attested before you get labour card .Rules are very strict here.
8-If you say u will get job thru an agent then i have nothing to say.I hve seen[asian] graduates working as cleaner/salesaman etc here [ 12 hrs]and get salary of 400 dhs/months.from which their air fare etc is regularly deducted.yes it is 400 thts 100$ appx/mnth]
-tell you though it is a rule made not to keep passport of workers But still companies/employers are keeping passports So how will one move out of country if one wants?
9-presently even from India for labour jobs people are not coming here ,so b-ness ppl are turning to Nepal etc to get workers.
10-I was there in Canada for two weeks [in worst weather as they say] ,but still will prefer to stay in cold than in hot and xtreme humid weather.
When A/Cs do not respond at times.

If talk abt celebrities buying homes in dubai- yes even shahrukh bought[i heard so]Are they staying? No they are not-they come and go-
So again as a tourist u will enjoy this place to the maximum.

I am not to discourage BUT to tell If It is Your hard earned money please do some research before investing anywhere.
I personally will buy a property in UK //canada/australia than anywhere else.
[If i hve that much money]
thanks-

Good memories about dubai, is the food, especially bhel puri from Sind Punjab restaurant in Karama, Vrindavan's masala dosa, eggs paratha from keralite restaurants etc. As a tourist you will really enjoy that place

To add to the list-Raavi restaurant in Satwa, the Leyari's famous Biryani in Deira, also in Al Qouz. The Cactus Cantina (Mexican) in Metropolitan Hotel; Satwa R/A , Golden Fork's chain were my favourites. I even remember Sravana Bhawan in Karama.

Many of my friends have made millions in Dubai real estate. Some have made soooo much money that they can even retire at any time. Almost everyone started with residential apartments, later moved into villas, and now are venturing into other retail or commercial property.

There are contradictory reports about the property boom in Dubai. According to some experts boom may not continue. Others, see Dubai continuing to grow, somewhat at a slower pace than in the recent past.

I think the same applies for South Asian Muslims too!
