Hi,

I am planning to sponsor my wife and children. My wife doesn't have birth certificate. What is the alternate for the birth certificate? An affidavit from a notary is enough?

for PCC: Can i submit PCC issued by local police station?

Hello
You Cannot get PCC from local Police Station.
It is Little long process. YouR Wife will have to Apply That, It Takes Two Three Weeks.
Which Region Your Wife And Children Live in India.
TO APPLY PCC I THINK YOUR WIFE HAVE TO GO TO SSP OFFICE..NOT SURE IN THESE DAYS.

If your wife does not have Birth Certificate She Have To Apply For That .
If Your Wife Born In City She Can Apply That Muncipal Commitie if in Village She can Apply in Local CMO Office.
IF You Want Quick You Can Get One it is Called ...NOT FOUND.... [ that means record not found ]

Thanks saathi. My wife and children living in southern part of India, Tamil Nadu. They say, local police station gives PCC. is it acceptable? for birth certificate-municipality says they don't have on their register. so, can I use an affidavit from a notary? thanks

My elder sister also didn't have birth certificate but when needed, we dealt with the local VAO and got two original (backup)..

Ask your relatives to contact VAO immediately, they can act fast if you pay extra mileage...

.. You're from my mother's native district.

1.0 Are you living in Canada?

2.0 Do you have passports for your Wife and Children? Please clarify then it solves all of your questions.

For PCC contact your local passport office ..... fill in form 2 & apply http://passport.gov.in/cpv/Forms.htm

For Tamil Nadu also check the Chennai site http://passport.tn.nic.in/
