Just a FYI...
Your child is a Cdn citizen if, per the new citizenship law...
"The limitation affects the way people acquire Canadian citizenship outside Canada. It means that, in general, children born outside Canada on or after April 17, 2009, will only be Canadian at birth if they are born to a Canadian parent who was either born in Canada or became a Canadian citizen by immigrating to Canada as a permanent resident and subsequently being granted citizenship (also called naturalization)."
In other words, if you are naturalized Cdn citizens through PR immigration, you US born child is a Cdn citizen.

Sorry to digress , - What does an infant birth certificate look like ? Does it say 'Statement of Live Birth ' and is stamped & sealed by the Registrar ?
I have not received any Birth Certificate perse , but a document titled as above showing a Regn no. and all relevant details .... Wondering if this is the Birth Certificate ?
Generally on an average how long does it take to receive a birth certificate ?
