I have recieved my papers from buffalo for medical examination on way to canadian PR within next 60 days.I have to leave with family to india urgently for at least 3 to 6 months.What should I do? Can I request immigration canada to postpone my medicals for 3 to 6 months.Will they listen and grant me 6 months time. Please answer ASAP. I am really worried. I will really appreciate expert advise.
PS : I live in usa and have a PR status there.
Check with CIC, i think you can do you medicals in India ......

Do you have health problems? If not, complete the medicals. It will be to your best advantage and it will be out of your way. For this find a location of a doctor on their approved list of Doctors and make an appointment as soon as possible. Follow through to completion. Also there are doctors in India too, who can help you complete the same, for this you will have to request them about the change of venue for the medical. See if they will respond to you by e-mail and also provide you with a response. So, do that first and wait for their e-mail response.
After you get through all of the formalities, if you want to move, then, provide them with the new address in India and also provide them with the duration of your stay there. If you can authorize some one there to open and tell you what the response is after you leave that location, then you will be abreast of the Immigration mails and their contents there in, from them.
What is there to worry?! Just do what they are telling you to complete. You give them the new address to which you are moving to.
Don't forget it normally takes anywhere from 18 to 22 months now, for the completion of the process. If it is left pending you don't know what the out come will be. Once it is complete, if they want you for an interview, you can drop into the USA and go through and cross the border and get your PR. The family can follow leisurely at a time convenient to them.

with regards ,let me thank you for the prompt response.I am supposed to leave ASAP to india. I will ask CIC to request for medicals in bombay. If I clear medicals what is the normal course of action ?
a) How much time it takes to get results of the medical?
b) Do they ask to submit passports to stamp for canadian immigration visa immediately or I can submit once I come back to usa?
c) can I send them passports from India to usa for stamping?
d)Can i submit them the passports after I come back to usa after 6 months?
I am confused and scared please help me and tell what exactly happens after I clear my medicals.This was the reason I was asking if they can postpone medicals for 6 months . Please advise. Thanks once again.
sorry freddie, I forgot to add in my query that i have been waived an interview.Does it takes normally 18 to 22 months to get final PR after the medical examinations are done. Remember I am in USA on a PR status.

What you can do is do you medicals in India through a medical practictioner and he will send your medicals himself to CIC, then once CIC takes a decision on your medicals and evryting is ok, they will ask for your passport.
You will have to update application incase you move to India for 6 months. Check http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/change-address.asp

How much time I get to send the passport or I how much time limit CIC gives me after the favourable medical results are sent by doctors from india. Do you think it sis advisable to send all passport to canada from india. It will be too risky or else if I am allowed say 6 months time , I can submit passports personally after i come back to buffalo. Please advise. Thanks
