Hello koihai,

When you apply through Buffalo, I think you are living in the USA. Then, you send your Passports to Buffalo USA. for stamping, from USA. That completes the circle.
For this you may have to go back to USA and and stay or work there and then proceed to Canada, if you want to take the normal route.

If you want them to process the passports in Buffalo, and want to send them from India and want them returned to India, you make a request to them and see if it is O.K. and it will be through the e-mail. First, you get an O.K. for the Medicals in India. Then wait for their reply. Hope it is a positive response.

You will have to sound them and see if it is done normally this way. If not, then you can only do it from USA, for which you will have to re enter USA and stay there till all of the formalities get over. There is no way I can say what the Officer will determine or what he will tell you to do. You please do the asking BEFORE you leave for INDIA.

As regards the time span that you will be provided with : Under these circumstances, no one can give you a time frame. You take one step at a time and see where you are. Don't forget that all of this is due to YOUR moving out of the States in a Hurry. So you will have to take all of the responsibilities squarely upon your shoulders and see where it takes you.
