http://therapists.psychologytoday.com/usnews/state/ON/Mississauga.html (Therapists in Mississauga)

Chinu,
Upon googling, I found the above link. Each psycologist (theraists) has an introduction and hence upon reading the introduction you may be able to pick one who is suitable for you. Upon reading the link, I found that these psycologists are not covered by OHIP but MAY be covered by your exteneded health coverage (if you have one).
You can also call the Ontario college of psycologists (google to get their link / number) to see how they can help.

Hope this helps and all the best in your therapy.

Peace

It might be an equally good idea to share your issues on CDs as most of the members would offer genuine advice which might comfort you as well as provide guidance .

Hi chinubabu -

Good move. Psychological issues are extremely personal and can be symptomatic of some physical issues as well. I am not saying that is so in your case, but you have made the right decision in wanting to consult a psychologist. Don't open yourself up to judgemental, nonchalant, frivolous "advice" in such cases.

Please ask your family physician. He/She can refer you to one or at least provide you some contacts and point you in the right direction. Good luck and best wishes.

Chinu,
I second Blorean. Posting personal details is not a good idea in CD. There are always people lurking to take potshots in such instances.
Moving ahead, OHIP covers only GP services, Psychotherapy and psychatry. Hence having a person as listed above would not put a dent in your wallet (provided you donot have extended health coverage).
Hope this helps

Peace

I agree but speaking from personal experience I have realized that advice of psychologists is also subjective to their own thought process , background and culture and its possible for 2 psychologists to advise differently on the same matter unlike physiological issues .

The benefit of being behind an alias on the board is that you are insulated from other readers and more often than not , readers give genuine advice on CD .... so one can judge whats right and wrong per one's requirement and since the advice is most likely to be in majority , you can be confirmed that you are in the right direction ....

One can seek permission of mods to create a new id if need be , upon explaining the circumstances .

Its the right move to seek professional guidance ..... should render lot of benefit ... as our own thinking process gets affected by our circumstances. Some employers as a part of their medical coverage provide free counselling as well.
