I think, No.

If I were you, I would visit the nearest Best Buy, Future Shop, Costco etc, and check with them about Plasma maintenance checklists.

I havent found a gas refill requirement from my "googling".

Thank u very much.

The estimations on their projected longevity is based on the assumption that one would watch programming on their Televisions for 8 hours a day. We don't have that much time to watch TV and I am not sure what your usage will be but still you should be just fine with either. We have an LCD and love it.

Here's one of the many sites that compares the two technologies:

By the way, if cost is of concern, at least from what I have seen, plasmas have gone down in price compared to LCDs a lot lately.

i think it depends on personal preference. i love LCD's. the only drawback of having plasma is, picture burnout during initial usage. you have to be very careful during first 20-30 hours of plasma tv usage. most of the plasma TV comes with option to correct the picture burnout. if you won't be using your TV for gaming purpose mostly, i think plasma is good choise as well.

Interested in buying good TV

Can someone suggest which brand one should buy

Sony or LG or Samsung

and then

LCD or LED

Where is the best TV deals for LED and LCD for Sony or Samsung or LG?

Thanks

What size? LED is more expensive but has better contrast ratio and somewhat lower electricity consumption than regular LCD TVs.

Samsung has proven to be a leader so far but recently Sony has been competent in terms of prices . LED technology is latest and the performance is great . If budget allows than consider Samsung 8000 Series . Compare it with any other available high end TV's and you will know why it is most expensive .
Good luck .

I bought Sharp Aquos last month and checked all three.

Plasma: + points - cheaper, true skin tone, move lively picture.
- points - better viewing under less lighting conditions like basement and not good if your room is well lit. Heavy in weight. May looks dull if watch from an angle.

LCD: + points - Good combination of brightness and price.
- points - Heavier and thicker than LED.

LED: + Points - Thinner, less energy consumption, most brightness and best for game users.
- Points - Costliest.

Visit any Best Buy and check yourself.
