Desi High Definition Channels

Hello Everyone,

Just recently bought a HD LCD but cant seem to find any Hindi High definition channels to see on them. Does anyone know who shows the. There are more than 100 English HD channels but no Hindi or South Asian.

(The regular Hindi channels either look fat on HD LCD or show up in a black box - both annyoing)

Please define HD: High Definition in a scientific terminology and you will know your answer.

I don't think we have any HD (720p/1080p) Desi channels yet.

Does Star TV/Sony/Zee and likes have a HD broadcast in India? I have seen LCD TVs in India, but haven't seen an HD broadcast anywhere, not even in TV shops.

Also, is it worth paying even for regular def. desi channels? Some of the free preview channels they show on Rogers have a poor audio/video quality compared to their Canadian/US counterparts.

But paying extra to watch Rakhi Sawant or Rahul Mahajan in HD? How many people would do that?

Agree with you Meghal

Who will watch HD channels for Rakhi, Rahul etc. etc.

I still wonder why people are crazy about Rahul Mahajan ?
If not wrong, he is one of the culprit for his wife's murder

Yes. I believe most of the electronics are always "backward compatible". Very few channels are HD even in Canadian/US lineup. It is just like watching regular DVD on a blu-ray player.

Half of the shows that I watch (Comedy Network, Tropical, Peachtree TV) on my LCD TV is regular def. Same is case with desi channels.

To enjoy HD programming, you need a HD TV and a HD receiver (or HD antennae)
