Seenappa,
I respectfully disagree. Remember that CD is to get a 360 deg. view of Canada and questions like this of course help a lot of immigrants make meaningful choices (incl. me).
Over the past 6 1/2 years, I have been looking for the best detergent to take the filthiest dirt of my cloths but as of date have not found one.
I find that SUnlight is hopeless whereas Tide and Gaain is better. Also always use the liquid instead of the powder.
if you could recollect a few years ago, you started a thread about how to carry your luggage to the Airport on the TTC by making repeated trips and this post can be much more informative when compared to that.
respectfully all in MHO only.

Peace by TK

Detergent

Little johny was at the convenience store picking out a large box of laundry detergent. The grocer walked over and, trying to be friendly, asked the boy if he had a lot of laundry to do. Oh, no laundry, the boy said. I'm going to wash my dog. But you shouldn't use this to wash your dog. It's very powerful and if you wash your dog in this, he'll get sick. In fact, it might even kill him. But little johny obnoxiously refussed to believe the grocer and carried the detergent to the counter and paid for it, even as the grocer still tried to talk him out of washing his dog.

About a week later the boy was back in the store doing some shopping. The grocer asked the boy how his dog was doing.
Oh, he died, the boy said. The grocer said, I tried to tell you not to use that detergent on your dog. Well the boy replied, "I don't think it was the detergent that killed him. Oh I'm sorry. How did he die? I think it was the spin cycle.

oh that was a lot of fun loser and blorean.

Brown bear....my personal experience...when it comes to nice clean , shiny clothes, esp keeping whites white, Tide is best...Gain is also very good, very close performance but leaves clothes scented....now that would be a personal choice, which one you pick both being close performers. I personally like to do my linens & towels in gain as they keepp smealling fresh even after couple uses but other clothing in Tide esp my husbands shirts as he doesn't like smelling like laundry all day;)

can't say the same for sunlight...have bought it once or twice just because it was on sale, but still would vote for Tide when it comes to nice white clean clothes( people use other brands & then use bleach for whites....again a personal choice...I hate the smell of bleach)

I have noticed that most of the powder detergents leave a residue on the clothes, because of which we have switched to the new 2X (two times ) concentrated liquid detergents like Gain.
