My handwriting has gone down the drain. I use my laptop for everything and have barely written in the last 10 years. Even forms can be filled online.

I can sign. Anything more and I can barely read it myself :)

How are the other members doing with their handwriting? Do you still write letters? Write personal messages on cards? How are your kids doing? Do schools stress the importance of having a good handwriting?

You said it bro, it is going down the drain. The only time I use pen and paper is to take notes during meetings.

blorean,

You got it, dude. My hand writing was always bad. Now it's...you can imagine. Sometimes I can't understand what I wrote. 4 and 6 look the same as I write 4 in the other way. Signatures, taking some notes during meetings, etc. that's all by hand. Rest from the keyboard. At least in schools, there is still some hand writing going on.

Best way to keep your handwriting practice up?

Write love notes to your spouse :-)

Very True!

My parents use to say my hand writing used to be like pearls(:D thats how ppl say when it is really good in my community)And more over i found out i am not able to write more than a page(my hand hurts....and don't even ask me about my writing its so horrible....:( (i still remember the days in my school/college/university where we used write write write all the time....
Now i am planning to send hand written letters to my family back home rather sending emails. It is more touching when you see hand written letters....

cheers
prince

Even here, texting is taking over :(

It is the end of cursive writing, true...do they still have kids practice this in school? We used to get a stick on our knuckles till we got the 'twirls on f and g right'!

I teach at the undergrad level, and it is impossible to read student's handwriting these days.....

My daughter used to write in cursive when she was in the elem. school couple of years back. I guess it is still there in schools. I know a HS English teacher who hates typing. Most of the writing is by hand in cursive. Her handwriting is beautiful. No wonder.
