One more correction ... A PCC is valid only for 6 months so getting it in advance would be of no value .....

For one - I have had to submit renewed PCC in the past from the Indian Embassy since the previous one had expired --- which implies that if I take a PCC in much advance ..... it would be futile ...... and for 2 it might not be needed .... as a part of the citizenship process .... its on need basis .

I have had my PR renewed recently and though I was out for most of the past 5 years I was not asked to furnish PCC s .

Do you know where you resided at the time you had to renew the PCC. Which country that was it you were residing in? Was it India?

Who says that you need the PCC for the citizenship process?

Why don't you all read the postings?

Freddie.

There s no q of residence . PCC has its validity period of 6 months/year . Period.

Sir ,

You brought in the issue of PCC when the person was asking for PR renewal and Your original response suggested that one should collect PCC asap .

Quote:
Also if you resided there for six months or longer, you will be asked to submit a Police Clearance Certificate for those Countries also. So try and obtain one if the stay was longer than SIX months. This is to help you now and prepare you for the future.

I have suggested 2 corrections - one PCC is mandatory only while applying for PR and not beyond and it has a validity period due to which it should be applied for only when asked for . PCC has got nothing to do with PR renewal and hence the mention was misguiding at the first place .

You have made two statements here. Are you sure of what you are saying?

In my first post I posted a tip to the O.P. to obtain a Police Clearance Certificate for the country or countries where he stayed over a period of SIX Months or over as soon as possible. You would not know the reason why I posted this nor do you know the validity of one if he obtains it, because he did not mention the Country in which he stayed, if at all he stayed any where else for a long period of time.

You say getting the same in advance is of no value. Are you sure of it? I know that I am sure of it when I asked him to get one. You have to do your own search to confirm the same.

When you cannot read a posting and understand the thoughts behind it and your posting to the same thread with statements like "misguiding" is a little out of the way and you are getting deeper and deeper into it.

It is a condition or a state called " Foot in the mouth". I am prodding along trying to get you deeper and deeper into it and you are falling for it. Only for one reason, you have to do a lot of research into it prior to posting. You have not done so. When you do you will be a better man than me. So, don't post comments that are unwanted. When you said that you had to get a PCC re-issued, I asked you nicely where you resided that called for the renewal. You side tracked it. Under these evasive situations, you are not going to get a decent response from me which I can post here.

Some times when I post a few tips, it is to help that individual in an item, which when you follow will not only save you a little time, it will get you to the next level. Hence people who have thrown open a problem for us to see, I post to him the proper suggestions to complete. He is at liberty to follow now or do it later OR not at all. The choice is left to O.P.

This Canadian Desi website is a notch above all of the other boards, for their timely and friendly posting. The minute you start passing judgments you are creating a discord. I don't want to create one and I don't want you to fall for one either and create one.

I will let the sleeping dogs lie.

Freddie.
