I sympathize with Tamil civilians. But I would not support their militias. I am glad LTTE is getting its just desserts. Good riddance! But lets also not forget that the Buddhist Sinhalese establishment is equally bad and are infact among the most racist regimes of the world. I would like to see their wings severely clipped as well. 
On a side note, I find it curious that Tamil rebellion in SL was primarily reservation/quota issue. At least dring the early stages of the conflict. Isn't it ironic that Tamil Nadu is the most quota driven state in India!

I disagree. I think you should read more about the SL problem before commenting. The tamils in SL were severly discriminated due to their ethinicity when compared to the singalaese. The Tamils were required to get more marks than the singalese counterparts for the same seat

What choice did the SL Tamils have. Have you heard of the Riots of 1983, in which Millions worth of Tamils property were set in fire and thousands killed? What would you do if you were living in death fear in your own homeland.

I'm very happy that this thread has been started and if there are anyothers who are reading this thread you would find that you do not have any support or sympathy from India.

In this thread out of nearly 10 posters who are presuambly Indians we find only one supporting the cause while 90% is opposing the issue. The reason being that this person does not know the real history of this issue.
Not all Srilankans are terrorists. There are three types of tamils. The guys in north and from Jaffna. The guys who are in the East and there the ones who are working in the tea fields of Srilanka. The educated Srilankan's are the ones who DO NOT support the LTTE. The guys in the east who had supported the cause have pulled out and have started supported the Srilankan cause. These were the guys who gave the maximum manpower to the tamil cause and also lost the maximum people in this fight. They were nearly 30,000 and have lost nearly 7000 to these fights. Every organization which starts as a terrorist group needs to become a political outfit and involve in political activity. Many of the organizations including Indian National Congress did it successfully. The groups who have not been able to do the transition are stuck in the rut and die by the gun. The classic case are as mentioned above are PLO under Yasser Arrafat who could not change his mode, LTTE under Prabhakaran and Hamas guys. Eventhough Hamas have won the elections in GAZA they did not lay down their arms but still continued their violent means.
Both in Malaysia and Srilanka there is a concept of Bhumiputra and hence reservations are given to the locals namely muslims in Malaysia and Sinhalese in Srilanka while the minorities of tamils, chinese are discriminated in Malaysis, while the tamils, muslims are discriminated in Srilanka. On a side note the Indian Tamil Brahmins have been discriminated in Tamilnadu since the 1940's. Which has been highlighted by bjork.In tamilnadu if anybody talks about the genocide of Indian Hindus in Kashmir it is called as anti-minorities talk, while the stuff in Srilanka is genocide. What is this logic?.
In 1985 when Prabhakaran came to Tamilnadu, the erstwhile CM of tamilnadu gave Rupees 6 Crores of his personal money to LTTE to start the fight. He even let the lands of Tamilnadu to be used as training grounds. This was further supported by Indira Gandhi. The reason being MGR a malayalee born in Kandy of SL felt somewhat like a Robinhood saving his people by his act. While you know Mrs.IG always had to do something stupid and later regret it with her life like Bhindranwale and LTTE.While Karunanidhi has always supported TELO the opposite group. Many of murders of the opposing groups have been performed by LTTE in Chennai in broad daylight. History knows this unlike the tamil people who have a very short memory span.
In 1993 when IPKF went in they were opposed by the LTTE. The IPKF was very near to clearing out the LTTE but was called off in the last minute. At this very same time Premadasa was the guy who helped to arm and help Prabhakaran flee to safety. The very same Prabhakaran said then we are brothers, i.e., tamils and sinhalese who are fighting and WE DO NOT WANT A THIRD PARTY(INDIA) NOT TO INTERFERE IN OUR INTERNAL SQUABBLES.
Plenty of opportunities have been given to Prabhakaran to come out of the terrorist mode and become a political player. He has renounced this and stuck to a stance of Tamil Eezham. If you read their website you will find that they will account for 9 crores of people. That is 90 million. While the population of SL is only 35 million. Hence where are these tamils coming from and the answer is India. If anybody supports the LTTE tamil cause, then you are indirectly supporting the CESSATION of Indian tamilnadu from the Republic of India. If India interferes in the Srilankan cause THEN it should accept Pakistan interfering in the Kashmir issue. Would you want Pakistan interfering in the Kashmir issue. Please answer for yourself.
LTTE always has the habit of getting bogged into a corner and then crying to India for help. I'll boldly equate the current status of Prabhakaran to that of Adolf Hitler. The only difference was that Hitler shot himself and got his body burnt. While our friend has quietly slipped away to foreign country with his looted riches, while his fellow bretherns have been kept as hostages by his own men.

The real danger for this Tamil issue is for India. The armed veterans of LTTE have infiltrated to Tamilnadu and have settled in Tiruchirapalli, Chennai and other adjoining areas and carry Indian ration cards and passports. The army has surrounded PDK-Pudiyakuddiuyurrupu. The LTTE is holed out in an area of about 300 KM's. They have surrounded themselves with about 75,000 to 100,000 of the tamils and are firing from within. The SL government gave them a 48 hours ceasfire for the trapped tamils to go free, while the LTTE is not letting them go. They are shooting the tamils and also they are hanging their own people and creating terror. In some cases they are changing the clothes of their men shot dead to civilian clothes and claiming genocide. LTTE knows that if it lets the tamil people go they are finished. There are about 2000 people left behind. The Finance Minister of Tamilnadu has oppenly blasted LTTE for not honoring the ceasefire and let the tamils go free in the TN assembly few days ago. Indian has welcomed the ceasefire and blasted LTTE for not honoring the ceasefire. If you hear these protestors in Toronto you will hear them crying for international ceasefire and then Srilankan government should talk to LTTE. This is were the problem is that how can a government talk to LTTE which is a known terrorist organization. I simply salute the Srilankan government for the way it has handled this issue. Off all the governments the last one to ban LTTE was Srilanka.
This is really like when two kids fight and one loses, he goes and drags his mummy to fight for him. The losing kid being LTTE and the mummy being India.

This is a lesson every Indian should learn. Srilankan army is going to push through a wedge and atleast 300 tamils are going to be killed in the crossfire and using this wedge many tamils are going to escape. The LTTE is going slaughter some of these tamils who will trying to escape.

The Srilankan army assisted by the Indian army, Indian RAW agents are going to inflitrate this group and there will be a massacre of LTTE. The whole of Tamilnadu is going to raise in cry fuelled by the LTTE diasporas propaganda. The issue is complicated that the Srilankan government has been supported by China by their supply of third generation radars and fighter jets, USA by their non-intereference and intelligence on the LTTE arms gathering; by India vide radars, RAW and intelligence personnel and by supporting the Srilankan government. The crucial difference for the Srilankan government victory over LTTE unlike before has been made Pakistan, who have trained the Srilankan fighter jet pilots for precision bombing. This skill has outclassed the LTTE this time.
The learning from this whole episode is that a STRONG willed and focussed leader like Srilankan President Rajpakshe made the difference. May be Narendra Sinh Modi is our Rajpakashe !.
