Marriage Certificate.
For some reasons, I need marriage certificate (no other document/ pictures etc. is being accepted). Married (in India) for more than 25 years ago, me and my wife moved to Canada in 2002.
How can I get this certificate now.

How were you married? Were you married in the registrar's office or in the temple? if in the temple, how did you register your marriage? How did you prove the marriage for immigration purposes?
In most cases, an affidavit might be sufficient and held as equal to a marriage certificate.
Unless we know what it is for, it is a bit hard to pin point the exact document needed.

Hi, I agree with TK and not sure how you don't have one even after 25 yrs of marriage! Indian consulate can help in creating a affidavit which is considered equal to a certificate. Please contact them (they do charge a fees for this service, I'm not sure how much it is in Canada).

If you are an Indian citizen .... then you contact your local consulate .... here is a sample from New York consulate

If your spouses name is entered in your Indian passport, that might work as well for most govt needs. (assuming you are still holding Indian passport)

I am collecting all the possible documents. Hope any will suffice, instead (of Marriage Certificate). Else, I will need to apply and get one. We didn't have, as this was (and still is) not in practice when getting married in traditional Hindu way; having all RASAMS- JAIMALA, SAAT PHERE, BARRAT but not the Certificate.
