Dear Freinds ,

Happy to share good news that 2 days back we got our passport stamped and the other document to travel to CANADA as an immigrant.

I have few things in my mind which i have already asked and just needed update.

1. Can someone( freind ) in Canada buy health inssurance for us 3 ( myself , wife and daughter ( 15 months old ). And if in India we want to do which one is good.

2. If we send cargo( few utensils , personal CD and photos, some warm cloths ) well Ahead of our arrival , do we need to mention in things to follow.

3. I have some hindi and english movies DVD ( i dont know if they are pirtated) so any problem for that.

4.Do we get some resident card on arrival ( other then SIN card), as our agent metioned something like that.

5. In sept how will be the climate in ontario.

I do not think any body else can buy insurance for you. There are other threads on this site that discuss insurance issues. You may find them helpful. Basically you need coverage for 3 months and then you will be covered by OHIP.

Yes. That is a good idea. I am not sure what you mean by send ahead and things to follow. Typically, your list is stamped on landing, and when more stuff comes later, you can get it released without duty when you show this list. Maybe others can help better here.

Permanent Resident Card will be mailed to the address you give at the time of landing.

It can be humid and warm, but by October it cools down, so I would say be ready for temperatures in the mid twenties to early 30s.

What i mean here that we will be sending few things as mentioned now only and we will be reaching in Aug or Sept. ( so is this an issue)
