I came to canada, applied for my PR, waited a month and then went back to US as I need to finish some work here before shifting for good. My wife got here card when we were in Canada. I received a mail today from CIC asking me to come in person to their office on 8th july to re-submit photos(as they seem to have lost mine) . Since I dont have PR card, can I cross border by rental car with my IMM5292 document or should I get a "travel document" from the embassy?
Has anyone come back by private vehicle to canada without PR card? Please share your experience and advice.

Thanks smiley for that encouraging reply. I drove in yesterday without any hassle. They didnt even ask me to change the rental car as I was only staying for 2-3 days. Hopefully the INS (US) will be just as nice and let me back in!

The people at the center told me that it would take 6-8 weeks. But I got mine within 2 weeks. Hope this is useful to you.
